Tyfu Dyfi Harvest Meal

Bwyd Powys Food, the Sustainable Food Partnership for Powys, supported Tyfu Dyfi host a Harvest Meal at Aberangell Hall, Machynlleth on 27 September 2024. The meal was to celebrate local food produced in and around the Dyfi Biosphere. The meal was attended by a good balance of growers and farmers and good connections were made. The published author, Carwyn Graves, gave an interactive talk and Sam Robinson’s poetry inspired everyone. Established and new growers alike had a great time and there is  already a desire to repeat the shared meal next harvest.

Ann Owen, CSA development officer for Tyfu Dyfi at Dyfi Biosphere said, ‘For the future of local food production and food security of the Dyfi Biosphere, it is crucial that we get incomer growers and native farmers to stand side by side and work together to bring about the vision of a thriving, resilient local food system. I think the Harvest Meal event was a breakthrough, which hopefully we’ll get the chance to build upon, year after year.”
Richard Edwards, Chair of Bwyd Powys Food, said, “A Bwyd Powys Food funding grant helped to bring together diverse stakeholders enabling collaboration and innovation that will strengthen our local food system over the coming years.”
