People are at the heart of Cultivate. We are committed to building understanding, skills and confidence in all the people we connect with. We host regular training workshops and provide development courses through our partner organisations. We offer volunteer opportunities, host team building days, work and student placements and offer opportunities for care and social services organisations to get involved.

Volunteers are always welcome in our gardens and shop. Not all the work is gardening, there is a wide range of tasks to take part in and plenty of opportunity to learn new skills and teach others.

As a Volunteer you can:

• Learn and share skills
• Meet new people
• Support local food
• Work on your own or as part of a team
• Build confidence
• Make friends

Many of our younger volunteers gain the invaluable experience of work skills that lead them into employment. Learn the enjoyment of helping others, working as part of a team and taking part in creating something.

Cultivate is a membership organisation, and people are able to join to help build the local food movement. We hold annual meetings to discuss the direction of Cultivate, and members are able to vote the Board of Directors at each annual meeting.  Membership starts from £2.
